On Sunday April 9 th we went on a hunt for Easter Eggs at Bethel 37’s Easter Egg Hunt and pancake breakfast. Mackenna and I walked around together and decided we would grab a little candy and then point the other kids in the direction of ones we had seen, but what we really wanted to find was one of the 10 golden eggs that had been hidden very well. One was found hanging from a power line near the driveway and Mackenna was able to knock it down and won a prize.

From there we made a trip out to Port Coquitlam for Bethel 63’s official visit. We began the afternoon with soup and sandwiches and then headed upstairs for their  Majority Ceremony. Mackenna and I had the privilege of filling in again and assist in giving two very deserving young women their majority ceremony. Monday April 10 th I attended my own bethel, Bethel 40’s, open meeting and Jobie-to- bee night. There was one jobie-to- bee and some jobies from Bethel 37 and 52. We had capes and crowns out for people to try on for pictures and then had a quick open meeting followed by some games. It was so much fun and Bethel 40 received a petition from it!

The next night Tuesday April 11 was another visit to Bethel 37 in Surrey, where I had the opportunity to fill-in as Senior Princess for them. Their Librarian Amy gave an amazing Librarians Report about impressionist art, and it’s one I won’t forget! Wednesday April 12 th was a busy and fun one. It started with a trip out to New West for Bethel 22’s meeting where I had the chance to fill-in as Marshal for them and I got to catch up with the lovely ladies of 22. Once the meeting was finished we headed straight back to Richmond where I attended Richmond Lodges District Deputy Grand Master Official Visit festive board. I got the chance to tell them about Job’s Daughters and explained to them what we do and what my position is. As soon as Mr. Croda mentioned I had chocolate you saw the men get all excited and many of them came over and got some elephants from me.

The next day, Thursday April 13 th I had the chance to go to Richmond Chapter #73 of Order of Eastern Stars Open Installation. I got to see and learn many new things and socialize with the men and women of the chapter afterwards. They enjoyed learning a little more about Job’s Daughters as I enjoyed learning about Eastern Star. Monday April 17 th I went out to visit Bethel 48 in White Rock for their Past and Fraternal night where we all enjoyed a pasta dinner and then witnessed Bethel 48 do fabulous memory work in the Ceremony of Symbols ceremony. I have highly enjoyed the past 4 weeks and am looking forward to everything the rest of this year has to offer!

To think that Pageant was only a month ago is crazy. I have had so many amazing experiences in just these past 4 weeks. On Monday March 20^th I made a trip out to Bethel 48 in White Rock, my first Bethel Visit as Miss and I had an absolutely amazing time. I received a huge and warm welcome from the girls and adults, had the privilege of filling in as Senior Princess, and I highly enjoyed my time with them that evening. My next event was my home Bethel, Bethel 40’s regular meeting where I got the opportunity to catch up with everyone since Sessions, as Sessions was a whirl wind of activities and new things. The very next night a trip to Bethel 37 in Surrey, where I got to spend time with their amazing daughters and adults. Bethel 37 had amazing favours and Disney jokes, making it a night to remember. A trip to Bethel 22 in New West was the very next night as I went and supported their games night and ice cream sundae bar fundraiser. I had the great opportunity to talk with some jobie-to-bee’s that were there and play various games with the members of Bethel 22.

On Monday April 3 I went out to Bethel 48 again for their Friendship meeting. Here I had the pleasure to fill-in as Chaplain for the evening as well as I got to learn so much about the girls of 48 and went home with a stuffed bunny that smells like chocolate. After the meeting we had a snowball fight with cotton balls where the game became “who can get the cotton ball to stay on the Miss’s head inside the crown” It was so much fun and I would love to do it again. On Wednesday April 5^th I received my chocolate and candy so some adults from my bethel assisted me in preparing them for the upcoming evening and weekend of official visits. It was so much fun and am great full to them for helping me with this huge task. The next night was a trip out to Chilliwack for Bethel 20 and 21’s joint meeting. We ate left over pizza from the night before when we bagged candy and labeled chocolate, and enjoyed the fact that we could take the HOV lane on highway 1 all the way through. When we arrived at 21’s hall in Chilliwack it was amazing to see a hall full of so many daughters in one place. I had the opportunity to fill-in as Guide for Bethel 21 and it was my first time partaking in a closing triangle formation in a regular Bethel meeting. It was something new and I am so glad that Bethel 21 allowed me to partake in it with them alongside Bethel 20. This was the first time I had the opportunity to introduce my chocolate and candy to the jobie world and I want to say thank you to all the amazing people of Bethels 20 and 21 for your support that night, it really warmed my heart to see the support you guys have. My next day of travel was on Saturday April 8^th to Bethel 52’s Official Visit in Langley! I was so excited, I think Mrs. Beattie even got a little tired of me jumping up and down with excitement every time I mentioned it! I was so excited to see the girls of Bethel 52 as I can’t make it to their regular meetings as my Bethel meets the same nights as they do. But not only that it was the first time I got to see my Grand Team since Grand Sessions and I was so excited. Here Mackenna and I learned the art of “hunch backing” with our capes so that we don’t sit on them and chairs don’t get sat on them as we whisk it around our bodies. Here Mackenna and I received two jobs from our Grand Guardian and Associate Grand Guardian, we need to learn how to task pepper in food as Mrs. Schultz is allergic and we need to make sure that Mr. Kimm shows up in the right town for official visits. We enjoyed soup and salads and then Mackenna and I got to be Guide and Marshal and partake in a beautiful obligation ceremony where we had so many people we formed a complete circle around the altar. It was lovely to see. From here we headed straight out to Chilliwack for Fraser Valley Chapter of DeMolay’s Institution and Installation. This was the first time that Mackenna and I really got to experience how hot the capes can be as we sat in room full of about 200 people. We got to learn so many new things and watch a Past Associate Grand Guardian, Mr. Pat Bateman, receive a chevalier degree, one of the highest honours that can be bestowed upon a DeMolay. We then got to enjoy the dance and socialize with those in attendance. We then decided that a trip to Denny’s was in order was we were all a little hungry, so Mrs. Schultz, Mrs. Conley. Mrs. Byce, Mrs. Beattie, Mackenna, and I all headed out to Abbotsford for some Denny’s. When we got there we got a few strange looks as it was 11:30 and we walked in in full formals and Mackenna and I were still wearing our crowns! It was so much fun and I highly enjoyed it!

Can you believe 14 out of 15 official visits are over?! I can’t. The fall is always busy and always goes fast but I forgot just how fast it goes! Bethel #52 is last one and it’s an important one for both me and Mrs. H! I’m super excited to see everyone there!

I don’t believe I’ve blogged since before AJW so let’s talk about it!

The Grand Bethel put together a spectacular weekend! I always love this weekend because it’s 2 full days with all my favourite people. I hope everyone had as much as I did.

At the beginning of the month, I spent the day with my Bethel and the Fraser Valley chapter DeMolay at a promotion table at an elementary school craft fair. These are a great opportunity for promotion and are really popular events at this time of year. Check with your schools and see if they have something like this happening this month!

On the 26th I spent the day mini golfing as my fundraiser within my Bethel. It was really fun and was something different that I hadn’t seen done before. Remember when planning fundraisers to think outside the box!

Well, are you in the swing of things yet?! So stoked to be back into Jobies for the Fall and I hope you all are too!

My adventures have been quiet since my last post, but the biggest thing to let you all in on is International Day :)

This year the Grand Bethel meeting was held in Washington and I know many of us stopped to shop a little on the way down and on the way back home (I know the GG and I did!). The meeting was fabulous! The Washington Grand Team has started letting the girls be more involved in the planning of the day, so the ceremony was actually written by the Guide and a representative of the Washington Grand Bethel, it was really a nice ceremony about sisterhood and friendship!

The meeting was followed by a dinner and a huge dance party. Washington dances are nuts, they always play crazy line dance songs that I’m laughing too hard to dance to most of the time. My personal favourite is the wobble one where you hang and shake your body forward and then backward. It’s ridiculous and really the most fun dance! Fun fact: they also do the time warp different than us!

Now that we were all exhausted from dancing the night away, we moved 20 minutes down the road to the sleepover in Bothell. We slept in Bethel #77’s lodge which is where Miss WAJD Avary is from! She showed us all the secrets.

I had a really great time spending time with our Washington sisters, as I do every year. I really hope the girls who attended International Day took advantage of this opportunity to make new friends and reunite with old ones! To the ladies who couldn’t make it this year, I really hope you’ll be able to be a part of the day next year when it’s a little closer to home :)

I’m gearing up for the last couple Official Visits of the term and I hope to see some of you there!

FRIENDS. Did you know that the Associate Supreme Guardian is from CANADA?! How about the new SBHQ? And your Miss International is from the jurisdiction of Queensland, AUSTRALIA. That makes our Supreme Team truly represent Job’s Daughters’ international friendship. I am so excited for all of us to be working with Tim McIsaac (ASG), Pat Pelham (SG), Paige Abrahamson (SBHQ), and Taila Gouge (MIJD)!

I had the pleasure of getting to know Taila pretty well over the week and she is a truly remarkable young woman and will represent our Order with grace and pride. She was also named this year’s Miss Congeniality. P.s. You can find Taila singing on YouTube for the Australian version of The Voice!

Thank you all for your kind words and your messages of encouragement! Although I was not one of the 10 finalists, I was awarded with a trophy for the highest written test mark out of the 30 Misses who competed this year. I am pretty proud of myself and am encouraged to know that many of you are proud of me also! You truly are the best jurisdiction!

Supreme Session is a crazy week every year! There’s always so much to do. This year I went on a tour to Frankenmuth which is a little Bavarian themed town across the state from Grand Rapids. During that tour, myself and a PHQ from Oregon rode waterslides in Splash Village and in addition to the water fun, my mom and I wandered around a Christmas store that is open 361 days a year and is the size of FOUR FOOTBALL FIELDS. It
was nuts and I was in heaven. Aside from pageant, that store was probably the highlight of my trip, to be honest. The rest of the week was just hanging out with girls from around the world.

Next year, we are headed to Pennsylvania with tours into New York, New Jersey, Washington DC and Philadelphia. I want to take this opportunity to encourage the daughters of BC to think about starting to save
up for this. I know a lot of you have never thought about coming to a Supreme session, but I can tell you from experience that it is the BEST thing I have done as a daughter. Throughout that week, you are surrounded with young women from around the world who share this organization with you and quite often there are many girls who share the same interests and experiences as you. I honestly cannot explain what an awesome experience it is to hangout with ladies from all over. Supreme is like Grand sSssion times like 1000. Get your Bethel Buds together and let’s show the world how BC rolls!!

Good luck in all of your new stations as September starts. I always love first meetings because it’s the first time you’re actually in your new station. I think it’s fun to see the meeting from a new spot in the room for the first time.

I hope you ladies are getting pumped up for International Day and All Jobie Weekend!! See you there!

Holy moly, I love installation season but it sure keeps us busy!! I managed to get out to as many installations as I possibly could and I never had nothing to do on a Saturday! Congratulations to all of our new HQs and officers, a new term means a new opportunity to give your input and help shape your Bethel :)

#22 with their Fairest In All The Land theme, and led fearlessly by Kasja, I know will continue to grow throughout this term! #21 and HQ Alexis is diving into a British theme full of tea, biscuits and laughter, I can’t wait to see what the Bethel has planned for September. #20, my home, is flying into the second star to the right and straight on until morning with HQ Maddy to lead the way to Neverland! Our Bethel is in such good hands and I’m glad to be a part of the difference we try to make. #48 sprang into the term with Tigger and ice cream, I know Sheryl will have us all screaming for ice cream throughout her term and I look forward to all of it. #2 is hula dancing their way throughout the Island with Meghan and Evangeline making sure their Victoria Ohana is always having fun and that no one is left behind, I hope to see the love spread across the jurisdiction :-)

Washington Grand Session was a totally new experience for me. It’s very different being at a session that’s not your own, but I loved every minute of it. Did you know that they have their Miss pageant on Thursday instead of Friday? Cool, right? I had the pleasure of getting to know Miss Washington Job’s Daughter, Avary, over the course of the weekend and it’ll be so nice to see a friendly face at supreme session!

Do you guys know how close Supreme Session is?! My flight to Grand Rapids, Michigan is in just 4 short days! I can’t believe it’s coming so fast. All of the jurisdictional Misses have been crowned and now we wait until we are all together at session. As I mentioned earlier, I got to know Avary pretty well at Washington Grand Session, but I also get to spend time with Oregon’s Miss, Josephine! I think that the 3 of us will have a crazy time together next week.

I am so excited to represent the best jurisdiction and I hope to do you all proud! I’ll talk to you all when I get home ❤️❤️❤️

Well, I’ve officially been Miss for a month!! And what a crazy month it’s been! 5 official visits down and still so much time left :) I, unfortunately, had to miss out on Bethel #2 and #36 but I know you girls did exceptional work as always!

Over the course of the month I have been keeping myself busy:

My first event was attending my very first OES installation – so cool! Their ceremony is very intricate.
After celebrating my birthday at out GG’s house, I had the honour of presiding as HQ for #29s Official Visit! – thank you to everyone who came to help out, I can’t express how much that means to me and especially to their Bethel.
We ventured to Richmond for the OV of our Associate Grand Guardian’s home: Bethel 40! – Welcome, Grace!! I can’t wait to see what this organization does for you!

On the 16th, my Bethel collected for the provincial food bank event and had a fun day at Mill Lake playing kickball – the collection was really successful and I hope all of you made a fun day out of it like we did!

#25’s OV was crazy!! – thank you all for such a warm welcome and I can’t wait to come back and play hide and seek with you again (for those of you who haven’t been up there, their hall is incredible for hide and seek!!)

Then I visited Bethel #48 for their Hoser Friendship night – The competition was fierce for all that donut eating and maple syrup tasting. Thanks for the laughs!

This past week I visited #22 for their deputy visit and initiation – your two new girls are so great and I’m so excited to see them out and about :)

I will finish by saying that gourmet lollipops will be coming to a Bethel near you in the not-so-distant future! That’s right, as part of my travel fundraising I will be selling gourmet lollipops! They haven’t arrived yet, but they’ll be here before the end of the month and I will keep you posted :)

1. I have been a jobie for 6 years and am a PHQ of Bethel #20 in Abbotsford.
2. I am 17 and will be graduating high school this June.
3. Like Mrs. Hasegawa, I really love a good cup of tea.
4. I haven’t really grown out of my “Disney phase”
5. I read… a lot.

My love for books is what inspired my theme for this year, Choose Your Own Adventure comes from a line of books that let you choose how it ends depending on decisions you made throughout the book. I want to encourage our members to live their life like they are reading one of these books. To choose your own adventure by taking a hold of your future, your education and your jobie career, and steering it in any direction that you want to go. You have the power and determination to pursue anything you set your mind to and my goal for this year is to make sure that every girl knows this and that there is nothing that could possibly stand in their way.
