January 100th Anniversary Theme

We have finally made it to 2020, the year of our 100th Anniversary!

As we continue through the year, don’t forget that each month has a special theme. Below we have included details about the next couple of months. Please distribute this information to your jurisdictions and Bethels.

January: Librarian’s Report

The monthly theme for January is Librarian’s Report. Our Librarians encourage a desire for good literature, arts, and sciences. Help us honor those who share their knowledge with us by encouraging Daughters to enter the Supreme Librarian’s competition and/or your respective jurisdictions’ Grand Librarian’s competition. Attached you will find the information about the 2020 Supreme Librarian’s Competition.

During the month of January, we’d also like to encourage Bethels to read a special Librarian’s report. The 100th Anniversary group has provided a selected number of poems written by Mother Mick that are available as an option for the report. Those poems are attached to this  email and are also available on the 100th Anniversary landing page (https://www.jdi100.org/librarians-month).

February: Jobie to Bee

The Jobie to Bee toolkit is almost ready to take flight! Please bee on the lookout soon for more details.

March: Founder’s Month

March is the month of Mother Mick’s birthday. To celebrate her, we will be releasing a new ceremony “Mother Mick’s Bouquet” for Bethels to perform during the month. We hope to release the ceremony as soon as the Portuguese translation is finished. To help Bethels prepare, we have provided a list of the flowers included in the ceremony. We will also have hand-painted printouts of flowers available shortly.

As another way to celebrate our founder, the 100th Anniversary group has been working with Forrest Lawn Cemetery to place a memorial bench near Mother Mick’s gravesite. We would like to ask each Bethel to hold a special coin march during the month of March to help us raise the necessary funds to make this tribute possible. If every Bethel were to raise just $15, the project would be fully funded.

Thank you for everyone who has participated in our 100th Anniversary activities thus far. We’re looking forward to seeing all the ways you’re celebrating the 100th Anniversary. Don’t forget to use the 100th hashtag #jdi100 on social media so we can see all your exciting celebrations!
